Crestwood was knocked out of the PIAA Class 2A Boys Soccer Championship on November 10 after being shut out 3-0 by Lewisburg at Lake-Lehman.
The Comets had a spectacular 2015 season, winning their first District title since 1993 in a thrilling double overtime game against Coughlin on November 5. Crestwood had 14 consecutive wins prior to going up against the undefeated Lewisburg (22-0).
In the first round of states, the Comets failed to get any momentum on offense. Crestwood appeared to have an opening to score in the first seven minutes of the opening half on a corner kick from Connor Keenan. It turned out to be the Comets’ only shot on goal for the entire game.
For Lewisburg, Joey Bhangdia scored twice and Michel Permyashkin (Tommy Bhangdia) added one in the victory.
