Crestwood won the District 2 Class 2A field hockey championship in a game on Tuesday, November 3 at Wyoming Seminary’s Nesbitt Stadium.
Undefeated Crestwood (13-0) crushed Lake-Lehman, 7-1, to claim the title. This was the Lady Comets fourth consecutive district crown.
The win advanced Crestwood into the opening round of PIAA Class 2A tournament against a team from District 3 which was scheduled Tuesday, November 10.
The lady Comets’ offensive attack was relentless against the Lady Knights. Hunter Pitman scored a hat trick in the first half. Her first goal was unassisted. Her second and third goals came off assists by Hannah Ackers.
Also in the first half, Ashleigh Thomas found the cage (Mackenzie Kile) and Lizzy Dessoye (Ackers) to put Crestwood up 5-0. Jordan Olenginski scored twice in
the second half, the first unassisted and the second off a pass by Thomas.
Crestwood out shot Lehman, 24-6. Marlee Dillon had four saves in the
