Leo Petroski, 86, Mountain Top, died Nov. 3, 2015, at the Celtic Hospice Unit in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Medical Center.
Born in Mountain Top, he was the son of the late Leo and Matilda (Sincavage) Petroski.
Leo served as a platoon sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea, for 13 months.
He worked as a truck driver hauling cars to and from Detroit for many years and then distributing gas for several oil companies before retiring as a terminal operator for the Sun Oil Co.
Leo was a charter member of the Mountain Top Area Council 6440 of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 781.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and was a member of St. Jude’s Parish in Mountain Top.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were infant twin children, Leo and Diane Petroski; sisters, Leona, Dorothy and Josephine; along with a brother, Frank.
Surviving are his wife, the former Genevieve Konn, the couple would have been married 63 years on Nov. 8; children, David Petroski and wife, Kathy, Moneta, Va.; Gerald Petroski and wife, Nancy, Orefield; Donald Petroski and wife, Susan, Pasadena, Md.; and Mariann Eyerman and husband, Paul, Mountain Top; a brother, Walter Petroski, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Jude’s Church.
Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
