St. Mary’sAnnual Roast Beef Dinner Scheduled November 7

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Jeff Tudgay is the Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Father Jeff will be scheduling Altar Server Classes in the near future for new servers and a refresher class for current servers. Please call the parish office to sign up for the new server class or for more information..

The Youth Group will meet Sunday, Nov 8, from 6-8 p. m. in the rectory dining room. All students in seventh grade and older are encouraged to attend. Service projects can be used for Confirmation, school, or scout requirements. Adults welcome!

All parishioners are invited to join the Choir! The first practice will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 6:30 p. m. For more information call Keri at 570-868-6420.

Religious education students are selling Gertrude Hawk Candy and PondCreek Candles. These fundraisers help keep the cost of our religious education program at only $20 per student. Forms are on the table in front of the cry room.

St. Mary’s annual Roast Beef Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 3-7 p. m. Take out available. Volunteers are needed to work the door, help with take outs, to serve dinners, and to help guide our student servers.

To volunteer or for more information, call the parish office. Tickets are ready for purchase! Adults and Take Out are $9, children ages 5-12 are $4, and pre-school -no charge.

Cooking and Set-up-We will be

making the pickled beets and pickled cabbage on Wednesday, November 4 at 8 a. m. and cleaning potatoes on Friday, November 6 at 8 a. m. Help is needed!

Crafters, it’s never too early to think about our annual Bazaar. Keep us in mind as you make your fall and Christmas crafts. Wreaths, centerpieces, blankets, etc. will be accepted all year for our craft booth. Items may be dropped off during office hours or left in the meeting room.

St. Mary’s Parish will have our semi-annual blood drive on Sunday, November 29 from 8:30 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. Your time is valuable -help reduce your wait time by scheduling your appointment on the sheets in the back of the Church or call 1-800-Red-Cross. Be sure to bring your photo ID.

As our Church gets more crowded inside and the weather gets colder outside we kindly ask that parishioners move to the center of the pews to make room for others.

Families with young children have been standing outside so their children do not disturb Mass because our cry room is filled with adults. Thank you for keeping the cry room available for families with young children.

The Altar & Rosary Society’s Christmas party will be held on Sunday, November 22 at 1 p. m. at Theodora’s Restaurant in Drums. If you are planning to attend, call Pat at 570-379-3107.

Saint Theresa’s Guild members are asked to donate $5 worth of lottery tickets for a Lottery Basket for the Turkey Bingo. Tickets are due by the next meeting, Nov. 10 to Terry or Molly.

The annual Turkey Bingo presented by Saint Theresa’s Guild will be held on Sunday, November 15 beginning at 1 p. m. Doors open at noon. The kitchen will be open for lunch! Entrance is $2. Specials, raffles, and door prizes!

Saint Theresa’s Guild supports programs and projects that benefit the children of our parish. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month. Questions: Terry 868-3461.

Children’s Christmas Party-Saint Theresa’s Guild invites all children of the parish from birth up to and including 10 years old to the Children’s Christmas Party. Children must be pre-registered. There are sign up sheets in the social hall. Deadline is November 15. Due to the nature of this event no late sign ups can be accepted.

Cemetery plots are available in the new section. Please call the parish office to purchase plots or for more information.

Christmas Pierogi Making-Prepaid orders for Potato Pierogi are due next Sunday, Nov 8. Pierogi making will be Nov. 17-20, from 8:30 a. m. to approximately 5 p. m. Help is needed -any day-any shift. Please call the office if you are available.

The trip to see the show “Samson” will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The cost will be around $95 to $100, including show, dinner, and transportation. This event is open to the public. If interested call Alice at 570-379-2629 before November 23 between 3 and 7:30 p. m.
