CHS Soccer Teams Compete In Districts

Crestwood shut out Wyoming Area 6-0 in the first round of the District 2 Class 2A boys soccer tournament on October 26.

For the Comets, RJ Kresge and Dylan each scored twice. Curtis Tokash and Kyle Gegaris each added a goal in the win.

Crestwood keeper Lance Lysiak recorded three saves.

Crestwood out shot Wyoming Area 25-6.

On October 29, No. 5 seed Crestwood defeated No. 4 seed Lake-Lehman, 1-0, in the quarterfinals.

The game-winning goal was scored by Kyle Gegaris, assisted by Connor Keenan, at 18:52 in the first half.

A stellar defensive effort by the Comets held the Black Knights scoreless.

Crestwood had 16 shots on goal compared to five by Lake Lehman.

Lysiak had three saves in the win.

Crestwood was scheduled to take on Valley View in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 3.

Crestwood players named to the 2015 AA east All-Stars 1st Team are: Lance Lysiak, goalkeeper; Andrew Ryman, defense; RJ Kresge, midfield; and Kyle Gegaris, midfield.

Named to the 2nd Team are: Dylan Perrone, fullback; Alex Despirito, midfield; Connor Keenan, midfield; and Thomas Roberts, defense.


The Crestwood girls were defeated by visiting Dallas, 2-1, in the District 2 Class 2A girls soccer semifinals on October 29.

Bella Termini scored the Lady Comets’ only goal off a cross pass from Sam Brumagin in the 26th minute.

Crestwood recorded a 9-1 win over Western Wayne in girls soccer in the District 2A semifinals on October 27.

Melissa Herrera led the Lady Comets in scoring with a hat trick in the first half.

Bella Termini scored a hat trick in the second half. Also goals for Crestwood were Sam Brumagin, Emily Traficante and Lauren Andrews.

Bree Fetterman was credited with three assists.

Mckenna Mera had four saves for the Lady Comets.
