Donations for the annual Race for Education at St. Jude School in Mountaintop have been coming in to the school office over the past few weeks. The total collected thus far is slightly over $14,000. Sponsored by the Parent Teacher Guild, the Race for Education is the primary fund raiser for the Guild with proceeds being used for PTG projects including enrichment programs, field trips, and educational materials for the students.

The day of the race featured face painting, bead collecting on a lap-counting chenille stem, music, and bubbles. Each student also received a St. Jude School drawstring knapsack for participating, compliments of the PTG. The goal for this year is $16,000. Anyone who would like to make a donation to this endeavor is invited to contact the school office at 570-474-5803.
