Mountain Top Blitz ‘Tackles Cancer’ Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer awareness month and the Mountain Top Blitz “Tackled Cancer” at their home game on Sunday, October 4, 2015 against the Wilkes-Barre Heights Jr. Grenadiers.

The stadium was decorated in pink and the football players and cheerleaders, were pinked out too. Players wore pink socks and cheerleaders wore hot pink ribbons and sock that were donated by the Blitz Board. Blitz fans in the stands sported “Blitz Tackle Cancer 2015” t-shirts. The Blitz organization held a t-shirt fundraiser and bake sale to raise money for Candy’s Place-A Center for Cancer Wellness in Forty-Fort.

Along with raising awareness of this disease The BLITZ raised a total of $1,934.50 for Candy’s Place. It was a fabulous day for the kids, parents and Blitz fans!
