The Crestwood High School Key Club and the Wascavage Family, to honor the memory of their son Matthew Wascavage, are collecting winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for those in need. All sizes, children and adults. Please drop off new and gently used winter items in the collection boxes located in the Crestwood High School lobby and the NEPA Boy Scouts of America office on Montage Mtn Road. Donations will be accepted starting October 29, 2015 up to Christmas break, December 23, 2015. Thank you for your help in keeping someone warm this winter. The CHS Key Club is sponsoring a community Trunk-or-Treat for children (6th grade and under) in the Mountain Top area. The event will be held this Thursday, October 29th, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm in the CHS front parking lot. The Trunk-or-Treat is being provided free of charge for the children. See you there!
The eighth grade students at St. Jude School will conduct a Bingo on Sunday, November 1 in the school cafeteria. Doors open at 1 p. m. Bingo begins at 2 p. m. Specials may be purchased at the door. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Proceeds will help defray the cost of graduation. Prizes will include an American Girl doll, Easton XL1 bat, Shopkins, X Box One games, Legos, designer bags, designer sunglasses, and much more. The Dorrance VFD Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring a Chinese Auction on Sunday, November 1 at the firehall. The doors open at 11 a. m. and the auction begins at 2 p. m. There will be hundreds of single items and many specialty baskets, collectibles and lottery baskets. There will be food and refreshments available for purchase. Mountaintop Family Church will host After School Clubs on Tuesdays, November 3, 10 & 17. ALL children in our community in grades 1 to 6 can be dropped off from 3:40 to 4pm and picked up at 5pm at the church. The children will have free play time with ping pong, air hockey, Legos, basketball shoot, games and more. Children can choose from the following clubs: Crafts or Cup Stacking for grades 1 to 6 or Lego Robotics for grades 3 to 6.
