A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 7 p. m. to present information on the State-mandated MS4 (Municipal Small Storm Sewer Systems) Permitting Process and Fairview Township’s participation as part of the Township’s Public Education and/Outreach Program.
The meeting will be held in the Supervisors’ meeting room of the Fairview Township Municipal Building, 65 Shady Tree Drive, Mountaintop.
The Rotary Club of Mountaintop will be sponsoring the presentation, the purpose of which is to reach out to and educate the general public regarding this permitting program. All municipalities are required to participate in this program.
Water quality is important for all aspects of life, including health and recreation. The goal of the MS4 permitting program is to implement best-management practices in order to produce tangible improvements to the water quality from stormwater discharges and runoff into our local waterways that eventually lead to the Chesapeake Bay.
This meeting will review the MS4 program in general, and Fairview Township’s goals during the remaining years of its current MS4 permit, which expires in 2019.
The public is invited to use this opportunity to become informed of their community’s efforts to improve water quality, and to provide their input and comments on the Township’s efforts to date and the overall program as a whole.
The Fairview Township Board of Supervisors will be accepting written public comments by mail, fax, or electronically via email until November 15, 2015.
