Kite Festival Huge Success Thanks To Generous Donations

Dear Editor:

Our Third Kite Festival was a huge success. We had over 150 children make and fly their kites at Harry Benning Park. The delight on the children’s faces as they flew their kites in the baseball field was a sight to warm the coldest heart. This was our third attempt at “community outreach” and to have it be a success gave US warm hearts.

This success was the result of the generous donation of local businesses, organizations and individuals:

Rice Township police in directing and controlling traffic .

Mountain Top Ambulance Association for allowing us to use their building for our food sale.

Wright Township Fire Dept. for bringing their Fire Engine for the children to investigate.

Rice Township Supervisors cooperated by not only a generous donation but also allowing us to use the Park and the parking lot by the municipal building

A thank you to Wilbur Barry and Darryl Schwarz for using their trucks and muscles to haul tables, chairs and miscellaneous items back and forth between the Church and the Park.

A special thanks to Nash FM 93.7 for all the fine publicity. It was great to have their help.

The Mountain Top Garden Club beautified the Park gardens with fall flowers. The gardens look great! Thank You.

A big thanks to our entertainers: Chelsie Bonifer; D. J., and Bounce House provider, The Moon Walk Guy.

The Members of the Pocono Kite Symphony are an extremely dedicated group of kite lovers who left there homes in the early hours to get here and spent the next 6 hours teaching our kids to build and fly kites. A big, big thank you!!

A special thank you to the Mountain Top Eagle for the excellent publicity. It helped make the Festival a success! Your dedication to community happenings is wonderful.

Thank you, The Parishioners of
