St. Mary’s Community Outreach Sponsoring Trunk-or-Treat

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. May’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko and Assistant Pastor is Reverend Jeff Tudgay. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday 9 a. m. The Altar & Rosary Society invites everyone to pray the rosary on Wednesday, October 7 at 6 P. M. in front of the Blessed Mother Statue in front of the church. October 7 honors “Our Lady of the Rosary.” Cake & coffee will be served in the rectory dining room afterwards.

The Youth Group is selling Boscov’s “Friends Helping Friends” shopping passes. The $5 shopping pass is good for one day only, Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The pass entitles you to 25% off most items in the store, refreshments, and a chance to win a $100 or $500 shopping spree. To purchase a pass please, call the office or ask any member.

Saint Mary’s Community Outreach Committee is sponsoring a safe trick-or-treat option this year, a tailgate trunk-or-treat! Families are invited to trick or treat from 7-9 P. M. on Halloween, Sat, Oct 31. The event will be held in the church parking lot on the grove side. Refreshments will be served.

The community is invited to gather cars in the parking lot, pop open their trunks, and hand out candy to kids roaming the safe popup community. There will be a car-decorating contest with prizes. Enter your vehicle for $5. Please arrive at 6:40 for set up. Questions: Michele Clark 570-868-0168.

There are a few boxes of 2015 Offertory Envelopes in the social hall. Please pick them up, or if possible deliver them to family and friends. All remaining boxes will be recycled October 3.

The new offertory envelopes will be arriving in a few months. Please call the parish office if you would like to receive them. Also, please call with any updates in contact or family information including a name change.

Orders will be taken for Potato Pierogi Oct 17-31. Forms will be in the bulletin. Orders will be pre-order, pre-pay only. Pierogi will be made November 17-23. If you are able to help make pierogi please call the parish office.

Triangle Pharmacy is accepting registrations for Diabetes Management classes. Four -2 1/2-hour classes start October 6, and will be offered every Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM. A physician’s order is required and classes are free of charge. Lessons cover the latest techniques including: what to eat, testing, preventing highs/lows, complications, exercise, stress, dining out, sick day care, foot care and more. Patients are encouraged to attend all 4 classes.
