Crestwood edged Pittston 3-2 in Girls Soccer competition Thursday October 1 at the winner’s home field.

Crestwood’s Bree Fetterman, scored at 17:12 in the first half. In the second half Melissa Herrera, assisted Nina Atie, at 26:09 to take a 2-0 lead.

Pittston’s Grace Mimnaugh answered back at 1:30 to get on the scoreboard for 2-1.

Crestwood’s Bella Termini came back to 1:14 to take the lead 3-1. Pittston’s Kayleigh Walker gave a last ditch effort with 0:08 on the clock kicking in the final goal of the match ending the scoring with 3-2.

Keeper Saves were logged by Taryn Ashby, Pittston with13 and McKenna Mera for Crestwood with 10. Pittston had 10 shots on goal to Crestwood’s 17. Pittston had 2 corners and Crestwood had none.

soccer team blanked Pittston 9-0 at the loser’s field Friday October 2.

R. J. Kresge drilled in two goals and also assisted Jason Klusewitz in the first half to lead by 3 at the end of the period.

Crestwood answered the call adding 6 more goals in the second period with 2 more goals from Kresge, and one each from Alex Despirito, Zach Valentino, Kyle Gegaris, and Hubert Herrera.

Goalkeepers Lance Lysiak had 4 saves and Tim Stewart had one for a total of 5.

+++++ Crestwood won two of their Cross

Country matchups at a cluster meet at Kirby Park Wednesday September 30.

Crestwood Boys beat Coughlin 26 to 29 and also bested Pittston Area 23-32. Crestwood’s Clay Kismal finished fifth at 16:57 in the 3.1 mile run.

Girls Cross Country saw Crestwood beat Coughlin 15-50 but fell to Pittston Area 15-50. Crestwood finished behind the top ten finishers.

swept Meyers 25-5, 25-15, and 21-6 Thursday October 1. Sydney Keller had 12 service points and two kills and Julie Murphy added seven service points, five digs and two kills.
