Crestwood Gridiron Team Falls To Wyoming Area

The Crestwood Comets varsity football team struggled to a 32-7 loss from Wyoming Area at the winner’s field Friday October 2.

Wyoming Area got out ahead in the first half with 10 points. Crestwood’s Josh Malkemes capitalized on a Wyoming Area pass interference penalty taking a reverse handoff in for 29 yards and a Crestwood’s only scores of the game with 7:50 left in the third quarter.

Crestwood totaled just 176 yards on offense. Quarterback Lance Blass was 3 for 15 yards totaling 34 aerial yards.

Wyoming area added touchdowns in the third quarter and two in the fourth quarter.

Crestwood will face the Hazleton Cougars at home Friday October 9, 7:00 p. m. under the lights. The loss places Crestwood at 1-4 for the season.
