St. Mary’s Vera Bradley/Polish Pottery Bingo Oct. 4
VERA BRADLEY/POLISH POTTERY BINGO-Saint Mary’s Youth Group will hold a Vera Bradley/Polish Pottery Bingo in the social hall on Sunday, October 4. Doors open at noon, games start at 1 P. M. This is an all paper Bingo, $20 -20 games. There will be three “special games” and door prizes. The kitchen will be open. Proceeds from this BINGO will be used for next summer’s parish mission trips. In July our students and adult chaperones traveled to W. V. to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. The Saint Mary’s group of 29 joined parishes from Sayre, PA and Milton for a total of 60 people representing the Diocese of Scranton. In August another group traveled to Casco, Maine to volunteer at Camp Sunshine, a camp for families that have a child with a life threatening illness. St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Jeff Tudgay Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

The Youth Group is selling Boscov’s “Friends Helping Friends” shopping passes. The $5 shopping pass is good for one day only, Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The pass entitles you to 25% off most items in the store, refreshments, and a chance to win a $100 or $500 shopping spree. To purchase a pass please call the office or ask any member.

There are a few boxes of 2015 Offertory Envelopes in the social hall. Please pick them up, or if possible deliver them to family and friends. All remaining boxes will be recycled October 3.

The new offertory envelopes will be arriving in a few months. Please call the parish office if you would like to receive them. Also, please call with any updates in contact or family information including a name change.

There will be a Roast Beef Dinner Meeting on Thursday, October 1 at 7 p. m. in the dining room. All are welcome to come and help plan this event. The dinner is planned for Saturday, November 7 from 3-7 p. m. in the social hall.

Orders will be taken for Potato Pierogi Oct 17-31. Forms will be in the bulletin. Orders will be pre-order, pre-pay only.

Pierogi will be made November 17-23. If you are able to help make piergi please call the parish office.

Triangle Pharmacy is accepting registrations for Diabetes Management classes. Four -2 1/2 hour classes start October 6, and be offered every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p. m.

A physician’s order is required and classes are free of charge.

Lessons cover the latest techniques including: what to eat, testing, preventing highs/lows, complications, exercise, stress, dining out, sick day care, foot care and more. Patients are encouraged to attend all 4 classes. For more info or to register, call 570-474-6590 or e-mail

Medical Equipment Collection-We have a good supply of canes, walkers, tub chairs, etc available for those in need. Please call Michele at 868-0168 if you would like to borrow any items.
