The first Teen Mass of the new school year will be celebrated on Sunday, September 20 at 6 p. m. Students in grades eight through twelve are invited to attend. There will be a special blessing of athletes. Weather permitting, a party will be held in the parking lot following Mass featuring food, games, music and Youth Ministry sign-ups. Religious education classes for students in the seventh grade Confirmation class will start Sunday, September 20 or Monday, September 21.
St. Jude School Masses held on Wednesdays will now be celebrated at 1:50 p. m. for the rest of the school year.
Seventh through twelfth graders are invited to become a part of the Young Family Ministry. The parish is looking to have middle and high school students work with and lead activities throughout the year aimed at the children of the parish. Examples -bingo, family movie night, Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW), etc. Students who are interested should contact Mrs. Grandzol at email@example.com attend an informational meeting on Sunday, September 20 at 11:30 a. m. in the school library.
Little Lambs is a program for the youngest parishioners six months to preschool age. The program will begin on Monday, September 21 at 9:30 a. m. in the Parish Center for an hour of songs, stories, a craft, and playtime. The group will meet Mondays and/or Thursdays. Catechists are needed for next year’s Religious Education program, particularly for the Monday night sixth grade. Parishioners are invited to share their faith with the young people in this important ministry. Team-teaching opportunities are available for those who are unable to commit to a full year. Substitute teachers are also needed. Young adult and high school students are needed as aides for the lower grades. Please contact Erin O’Dea at the Parish Center to volunteer.
The Living Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 4 at 1:30 in the church. All parishioners are invited to attend. A few prayer leaders are still needed. This prayer-filled experience is a way to come together as a parish family and begin the month of Mary focusing upon the mysteries of the rosary. Families are encouraged to participate as a group. The music ministry of St. Jude Parish is seeking more cantors. Parishioners who are interested in becoming a part of this ministry are asked to contact Joe Dubinski at the Parish Center.
