The Congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Mountain Top encourages you to join them for worship this week.
Fall Schedule-Worship: 8:30 a. m. and 11:00 a. m.
Office Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.
Communion will be offered on September 20th.
Sunday Morning gatherings are for adults each week right after 8:30 a. m. Service at 9:30 a. m. so members can get together and discuss any topic that they have interest in, and have some fellowship and discuss them
Nursery will be provided at the 11:00 services. The nursery service will be unavailable on holidays. Please contact Shai Post if you would like to volunteer; 474-2170. We are looking for volunteers who would like to work/watch the children the second Sunday of each month (except during summer months).
Lifeline Screening will take place Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Preregistration is required. Call 1-888-653-6450 for an appointment
St. Paul’s will be sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner Benefit on Sunday, September 20th from 2-6 p. m. Proceeds from the dinner will support two families from our congregation. Dale Major had a stroke at the end of May. He recently returned home, but still has a long road ahead. Matt Howton has suffered from heart issues and continues to recuperate. Both families could use our help. We will be looking for folks to help with the event as well as asking you to sell tickets and encourage as many folks as you can to come out and support this worthwhile endeavor. Tickets are $9 for adults, $4 for youth which includes salad, spaghetti with meatballs, bread and dessert. Takeout or eat-in….all are welcome
We are so very fortunate and truly blessed in many and various ways. St. Paul’s will celebrate the Festival of Harvest Home on September 27. As part of our thanks offering, we ask you to make a monetary donation to World Hunger or consider bringing in needed items for the Food Bank. Check the list under our Food Bank article. This is an opportunity for us to thank God for the wonder of creation that surrounds us with the good things we enjoy.
THE STORY Continues… Bible Study has never been as easy and fun as it is on Thursday evenings when we gather together and discuss Max Lucado’s The Story. Each week we gather at 6:00 p. m. to reflect on the week’s reading and apply those stories to everyday life. Come out and join the conversation!
For those who prefer, the afternoon Bible Study group meets every Monday afternoon at the Mountaintop Senior Center at 2:00 p. m. atWrightManoron460 S. Main road We are currently reading the Book of 2nd Timothy.
WELCA September meeting is cancelled.
Every third Wednesday, at 1:00 p. m. at the church will be Board Game Day. Please bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Come on out and have some fun. A sign-up sheet will be located on the table in the narthex.
The Yarn Spinners next meeting is scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p. m. There will be a box in the narthex for the lap robes for St. Luke’s Manor in Hazleton. If any of you are talented in crocheting or knitting, or would like to learn, they cordially invite you to join them. If you can’t make their meetings, please call Lois Burge at 474-5502, and volunteer your talents by making the items at your own pace at home. All would be most appreciative. If you need any yarn, please notify Lois.
Sign up for delicious hoagies! Watch for the sign-up sheet on the narthex bulletin board. All orders must be in by the previous Sunday. The cost of the hoagies is $4 each. The sign-up sheet is on the narthex bulletin board. All monies earned go to benefit the church. They’re available the 3rd Thursday of each month except December.
The following weekly meetings are scheduled: Weight Watchers every Wednesday at 6:15 p. m., AA Meetings every Wednesday and Friday at 7 p. m. and and Sundays at 7 p. m., NA Meetings every Thursday at 6 p. m., and the Stress and Anxiety Management support group meets every 2nd and last Tuesdays of the month at 6:30.
