love St. Jude and its parishioners.”
That love was reaffirmed in June when Father Jeff was reassigned to St Jude.
“I am thrilled to be back,” he said. “St. Jude is a parish that I know and love and I am excited to be a part of the life of the community as a priest in an exciting time in this parish.”
Father Jeff relates that his favorite part of the priesthood involves celebrating the Sacraments and preaching. He remarks he enjoys spending time with parishioners who are in the hospital and administering to their needs. Father Jeff adds he is also excited to work with the new principal of St. Jude School, Sister Ellen Fischer, to continue the mission of faith formation of each and every student.
“It is a privilege for all of us to work with our young people in such a great school,” said Father Jeff. “St. Jude School is a huge part of the history of Catholicism on the mountain, so to step into even a small part of that legacy is an honor.”
Father Jeff noted that if there is anything he sometimes struggles with, it is assimilating the Gospel in a way that is relevant for people’s lives. He points out that his responsibility as Assistant Pastor is to work with the St. Jude leaderships to uphold the pastoral vision of the parish and he is determined to do just that.
“All priests are works in progress and I am no exception to that rule. I am looking forward to allowing my work with Fr. Joe to unfold in whatever way my gifts and talents are needed,” concludes Father Jeff.
