George M. Ceaser Sr., 78, Slocum Township, died Sept. 8, 2015, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Dorrance Township on July 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Herman and Helen Knorr Ceaser.
He was a graduate of Newport Township High School and was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. until his retirement in 1972. Since then, he had worked in various other positions, including at Foster Wheeler and CertainTeed, both in Mountain Top.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Dorrance Township, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rose Wells Cybulski Ceaser; sisters, Louise Keil and Rose Kutzmonich; infant brother, Carl Ceaser; and brothers, Edmund, Herman and Bernard Ceaser.
Surviving are his daughters, Katherine Yaracz and her husband, Stanley; and Helen Rose and her husband, Arthur; son, George Ceaser and his husband, Rob Morton; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Edward, Carol and George; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Cameron and Gabriel; sisters, Helen Taney, Mary Lukashewski and Peg Lukashewski; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, Ashley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Mary’s Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Interment followed in the parish cemetery, Dorrance Township.
