The Congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Mountain Topencourages you to join them for worship this week.
The following is a brief summary of upcoming worship and service opportunities.
Worship services are held 8:30 a. m. and 10:00 a. m.
Office Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a. m. to 12 p. m.
The church office will be closed on Monday, September 7
Communion will be offered on September 6th and 20th.
A Healing Service is scheduled Wednesday, September 2nd at 11 a. m. with a Potluck Luncheon following at noon.
Nursery will resume on September 13th and again be provided at the 11:00 services. The nursery service will be unavailable on holidays. Please contact Shai Post if you would like to volunteer; 474-2170. We are looking for volunteers who would like to work/watch the children the second Sunday of each month (except during summer months).
THE STORY Continues… Bible Study has never been as easy and fun as it is on Thursday evenings when we gather together and discuss Max Lucado’s The Story. Each week we gather at 6:00 p. m. to reflect on the week’s reading and apply those stories to everyday life. Come out and join the conversation!
For those who prefer…the afternoon Bible Study group meets every Monday afternoon at the Mountaintop Senior Center at 2 p. m. We are currently reading the Book of 2nd Timothy. All are welcome!
The WELCA September meeting is cancelled.
Prayer for America-You are invited to join us on Sunday, September 13, 2015 as we gather as a community on Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to mark the anniversary of 9-11 and to pray for peace across our nation and throughout the world. Clergy from various faith communities will assemble to show our solidarity and common beliefs. Pre-Worship Concert will be offered from 3:15 to 3:50 p. m. and the service 4 to 5 p. m.
Board Game Day is every third Wednesday at 1 p. m. at the church. Please bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Come on out and have some fun. A sign-up sheet will be located on the table in the narthex.
Please remember that the first Sunday of each month has been declared “Food Bank Day” and we ask that members remember those less fortunate by bringing nonperishable food items. Items needed are coffee, peanut butter, jelly, dry soup, pudding and Jell-O mixes, and popcorn, pork & beans, canned tomatoes, canned soup, canned fruit, mayonnaise, tuna, macaroni & cheese and pasta (ex. Spaghetti), corn, peas, canned pasta, and green beans.
Hoagie Sale-Watch for the sign-up sheet on the narthex bulletin board. All orders must be in by the previous Sunday. The cost of the hoagies is $4 each. All monies earned go to benefit the church. They’re available the 3rd Thursday of each month except December.
Sunday Morning gatherings are for adults each week right after 8:30 a. m. Service at 9:30 a. m. so members can get together and discuss any topic that they have interest in, and have some fellowship.
The following weekly meetings are scheduled: Weight Watchers every Wednesday at 6:15 p. m., AA Meetings every Wednesday and Friday at 7 p. m. and Sundays at 7 p. m.,
NA Meetings every Thursday at 6 p. m., and a Stress and Anxiety Management support group meets every 2nd and last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p. m.
