St Jude’s Parish will be holding Cigar-B-Que on Saturday, September 5 at 6 p. m. at the parish grove. Cigar-B-Que is an event that includes a bar-b-que dinner and cigar tasting. The price is $50. The price includes a buffet dinner featuring pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken and sides, a sample pack featuring 6 premium cigars, draft beer, water and soda. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, September 2. They can be purchased at St Jude’s parish center or by calling John Kotsko at 570-814-6436.

American Legion Auxiliary

Mountain Post American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 781, will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday Sept. 3, 2015 at 7 p. m. for the Executive Committee and 7:30 p. m. for the Regular Meeting. All members are urged to attend and new members are welcome.

Nuangola Library Craft Show

The Nuangola Library will hold its 25th Annual Craft Show on Saturday, September 5 from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. at the Nuangola Lake Association Pavillion on Raeder Ave., Nuangola. More than 17 vendors will offer a wide variety of home-grown and hand-made items along with a Flea Market table. There will be crafts such as stained glass and textiles as well as art and photography. Old Post Farm will will be offering beautiful plants and flowers for autumn display. St. Martins-in-the-Fields will attend with there Bake Sale that features their famous Welsh Cookies. Lunch will be available to purchase. All You Can Eat Breakfast

Marine Corps League Det. 1039 All You Can Eat Breakfast will be held Sept. 6. The cost is $8. The breakfast will be held at St. Patrick Parish Center, 411 Allegheny St., White Haven from 8 am to 12 pm.

CACE Classes Begin Sept. 8

There is plenty of time to register for classes which include Yoga, Excel and Word for Beginners, Genealogy, Watercolors and many more. Printed brochures are available at the Kirby Library and the Post Office lobby in Mountain Top; Post Office lobbies and public libraries in White Haven, Freeland, and Conyngham. Also brochure is available online at,click on “links,” and then “Community Education.” Form must be printed and mailed. CACE classes begin on September 8.

Women’s Club Pot Luck Supper

Women’s Club of Mountaintop will hold its annual GFWC Pot-Luck supper will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 6 p. m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Route 309. The speaker will be Colleen Angel who will explain about Tiny Angel Gowns. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome!!! If any questions, please call President Leigh at 575-902-5362.

Rice PTA Meeting

The Rice Elementary PTA will host their first monthly meeting of the school year on Tuesday September 8th at 6 p. m. in the school’s library. There will be a change this year will all meetings being held on the second Tuesday of each month. All parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to attend the meeting. The Fairview Elementary PTA will host its first monthly meeting of the school year on Thursday September 10 at 6 pm in the schools library. There will be a change this year with all meetings being held on the second Thursday of each month.

Trooper Royce E. “Ree” Engler Memorial Benefit Ride

3rd Annual Trooper Royce E. “Ree” Engler Memorial Benefit Motorcycle Ride and Celebration will be held September 12th, 2015 at The Grove at American Legion Post 781, Mountaintop. Rain or Shine. Registration begins at 9 am. Ride departs at 11 am, Bikes and Cars are welcome. Celebration at 1 pm. Donation $20, Includes All Food, Drinks, & Entertainment.
