THE NEPA LABOR DAY FESTIVAL is a celebration in honor of our Labor History ( coal miners & garment workers) which made NEPA a place to grow a family. Money raised on this day benefits Veterans at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Hospital Community Living Center. There will be Music and Entertainment from 11-5 on Monday Sept. 7th at Kirby Park, W-B. George Wesley will be one of the five bands with a performance at 3 p. m. Former Pittsburgh Steeler and Baltimore Colts Star Player Lou Michaels, Swoyersville, who played during the 1960’s will be signing autographs at 2 p. m. with photos available for a $1 donation for the Vets. Come out and thank a Veteran for their service. There will also be a Chinese Auction tent with Gift Certificates, Steeler Autographs, Gift Baskets and much more. Lou Michaels (Pittsburgh, 1961-1963, Baltimore, 1964-1970) is shown with Wayne Namey, Labor Day Committee.
