Community Invited To Mountaintop’s First ‘National Night Out’ August 4

The Wright, Rice and Fairview Township Police Departments will be co-hosting the Law Enforcement “National Night Out” on August 4, 2015 from 4 to 9 p. m. in the Wright Township Municipal Park. In addition to the police departments, the Wright and Fairview Township Fire Departments, the Mountain Top Ambulance and several other service groups will be available to the public.

The National Night Out” is an annual countrywide program that promotes the building of police and community relationships.

“This is the first time we have participated here in Mountaintop, but is has been going on around the country for the past several years,” explains Royce Engler, Wright Township Police Chief. “We are hoping families come out and enjoy the event. There will be local police officers there to interact with the residents, demonstrate police equipment and provide free child identification kits. There also will be food vendors on hand and a bounce house for the kids. It will be a fun and information evening for the whole family.”

Participants will include Rotary Club of Mountaintop, the PA Fish and Game Commission, Life Flight, Sandy Ford and her rescue dogs, and a representative from the Victims Resource Center. Todd Ayers of Ayers Towing will also attend. A free Bounce House for the kids will provided by the Moonwalk Guy, a demonstration by Joe Huntzinger’s Karate Club, Whistle Stop Pizza, Danny McDonough’s Orangeade, and Webby’s Funnel Cakes will add to the festival atmosphere.
