Hot Enough? Keeping Our Eyes On Heaven At Emmanuel

It’s been pretty hot here in northeastern Pennsylvania lately. Just trying to keep cool has been hard work. But, if you think it’s hot here, just think about the familiar picture of eternity for those who won’t follow God’s ways. Our usual picture of that world is hot and fiery. Not exactly the place most people would like to stay in for very long. On the other hand, Heaven is depicted as a wonderful place, filled with light and clouds. Whether you believe literally in these descriptions of our afterlife or regard them as vivid illustrations, the basic message is that one place is full of horror and torment while the other is full of peace and tranquility. Our ticket to where we spend eternity depends on our belief here and now. In the heat of summer, remember to find the cool rest promised by Jesus Christ by not only attending church services, but fully participating in worshiping and praising our God and Father. Come worship with us at Emmanuel UCC. Everyone is welcome to walk with us as we continue our journey on the pathway to Heaven.

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 am. Come, join us for worship this Sunday. We welcome everyone into our Father’s house.
