St. Jude Parish Seeking More Cantors

The music ministry of St. Jude Parish is seeking more cantors. Parishioners who are interested in becoming a part of this ministry are asked to contact Joe Dubinski at the Parish Center.

Students in grades eight through twelve are invited to catch a wave at Camelbeach Waterpark on July 24. Registrations forms, Hold Harmless Agreement, and money must be turned into the Parish Center by July 22. No exceptions. The cost is $42 which includes admission to the park, transportation, and a meal voucher. Students will leave at 8:15 a. m. and return at approximately 7 p. m. A Rummage Sale will be held during the picnic. Donated items may include clean, usable household items, books, jewelry, furniture, dishes, toys, and exercise items. NO clothing will be accepted. Items may be dropped off Fridays, July24 and 31 from 5 p. m. until 8 p. m., and Saturdays, July 25 and August 1 from 9 a. m. until noon.

The Social Action Committee would like to help elementary and high school students by sponsoring a school supply drive on July 25/26. With the rising cost of food and clothing, many families in the Mountain Top area are finding it to be a struggle to be able to provide the necessary school supplies for their children. Parishioners are asked to make donations to this collection. Suggested items are backpacks, crayons, pencils, loose leaf paper, spiral notebooks, scissors, glue, glue sticks, markers, erasers, tissues, highlighters, index cards, and rulers. Donations may be placed in the buckets marked “School Supply Donations” located in the church. Distribution will take place on Saturday, August 1 from 11 a. m. until 1 p. m. in the school Day Room.

A lot of helping hands are needed to make haluski on Sunday, July 26 from 4 p. m. until 7 p. m. and Monday, July 27 from 9 a. m. until 4 p. m. in the St. Jude School kitchen. Contact Therese Smith for further information at 570-868-3458.

The parish picnic is August 7, 8, and 9. Parishioners are asked to contact the Parish Center to volunteer to work at a booth. Donations of wine and spirits are needed. This booth was a big success last year. Donations may be dropped off at the Parish Center. Theme basket donations may be dropped off in the Parish Center parking lot on Tuesday, July 28 between 6:30 p. m. and 7:30 p. m. All you need to do is provide the items for the basket. Grove clean up for the picnic will be Sunday, August 2 from 3 p. m. until 7 p. m. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, rakes, brooms, and rags. A light dinner will be provided.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
