St. Mary’s Church Preparing For Chicken BBQ/ Craft Show

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

The Outreach Committee is collecting gently used small medical equipment to be loaned out to people in need. Call Michele Clark if you have walkers, tub chairs, canes, bedside toilets or other items you would like to donate, or borrow.

Wapwallopen Ministerium Food Bank-Non-perishable food donations for our local food bank (UCC across from Andy’s) can placed in boxes in church. Anyone in need of food/household supplies should call Denise 868.5675.

St. Mary’s parish continues to participating in the Loaves and Fishes Program to benefit the Saint Vince de Paul Soup Kitchen. This month’s item: Coffee.

The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will conduct a Day of Reflection on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at The Villa of Our Lady Retreat House, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. Monsignor Vincent Grimalia, Chaplain of St. Luke’s Villa will conduct the retreat. The topic is “Devotion to the Blessed Mother.” The retreat will begin at 8 a. m. and will end by 3 p. m. A continental breakfast and luncheon will be served. The cost is $35. All Catholic women are invited to attend. Please send your reservation with payment to Helen Oravec, 814 Theresa Street, Peckville, PA 18452. The reservation deadline is July 25th. Registration Education forms for students in Grades K-7 are in the vestibule of the church. Cost is $20 per student. Volunteers are needed to help with the Religious Ed program. If you can help or would like more information please call Patricia Heller 379-2647. Kindly remember all sacraments require a two year prep. Sorry, no exceptions.

St. Mary’s Annual Chicken BBQ and Craft Show on Saturday, August 22. DJs, Carol & J. T. will be spinning and supplying Karaoke equipment. So... bring your appetite and your voices!

Crafters Wanted!! Only $20 per table! Please call the parish office to reserve your table. All activities will be outside, weather permitting.

St. Mary’s has joined the Maine Source Give Back Program! This is an ongoing fundraiser which allows us to earn a percentage of all purchases made by participating members. Forms (were included in last weekend’s bulletin) can be taken directly to Maine Source in Forty Fort or placed in the offertory basket.
