Tuesday, July 7-Golden Paddle; 1 p. m.
Are you a retiree looking to try something new? Then come learn how to kayak with other folks who are also enjoying their golden years! Basic kayak skills will be learned before taking the kayaks out on 9-acre Lake Frances; a perfect lake for beginners! Registration is required by calling 570-403-2006. Meet at Lake Frances. Cost: $5 per person.
Thursday, July 9-Hiking Series: F. E. Walter Dam; 9 a. m.
Join us for an easy 3-mile hike on State Game Lands 40 at Francis E Walter Dam. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water for this hike. Pot-luck picnic to follow. No registration required. Hike may be cancelled due to inclement weather. When in doubt, please call the Nescopeck State Park Office at 570-403-2006. Meet at the parking lot off the south side of F. E. Walter Dam Road. Free.

Conservation Volunteer Work Day; 6–8 p. m.
If you’re looking for a way to
give back, consider joining us for a volunteer trail work day. We’ll take a few hours and tackle a project or two to spruce up the park. To plan projects and equipment accordingly, please register by calling 570-403-2006. Meet at the park office.

Hiking Series: Gamewire Trail at Hickory Run; 9a.m.
Join us for a more difficult 3 ½-mile hike on the Gamewire Trail at Hickory Run State Park. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water for this hike. No registration required for this hike. Hike may be cancelled due to inclement weather. When in doubt, please call the Nescopeck State Park Office at 570-403-2006. Meet at Sand Spring Lake at Hickory Run State Park. Free.
Saturday, July 25
Family Stream Exploration; 9 –10 a. m.
If you’re looking for something new to do as a family, join us for a stream exploration! Learn about mudbugs, dragonflies, and more as we search for and identify the various critters living in the stream. Wear old sneakers and prepare to get wet! Registration is required by calling 570-403-2006. Meet at the park office. Free.
Space still available for Summer DiscoverE Nature Camps in July and August!
Registration for our summer DiscoverE programs is still open. Cost is 20 per child and the available camps are as follows: Penn’s Adventurers (Ages (Ages 9-12): 7/28-7/31 from 9 a. m. –12 Noon each day Outdoor Explorers (Ages 6-8): 8/5-8/7 from 9 –11 a. m. each day
Please keep in mind we can only accept registrations from parents/ guardians for their own children. Pre-registration and payment is required for these camps! Cost: $20.00 per child.
