Registration For St. Jude Vacation Bible School June 5
ST. JUDE’S CONDUCTS HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION-The St. Jude School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society held an induction ceremony for new members in St. Jude’s Church. The society was founded in 1929 in order to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing the characteristics of scholarship, service, citizenship, character, and leadership. Following the procession of current members and new inductees, the opening prayer was delivered by Principal Jeanne Rossi. The program continued with the traditional candle lighting, inductee pledge, and signing the registry. Mrs. Eileen Kempinski, NJHS Moderator, assisted with the pinning ceremony. Refreshments were served to family and friends following the ceremony. Registrations are still being accepted for Vacation Bible School. Children three years old to students entering fifth grade are invited to register via the parish website. Forms are also available in the Parish Center. Bible school will run from June 22 through 26 from 9 a. m. until noon. The cost is $35 per child. This year’s theme is “Bible Blast to the Past”. The registration deadline is June 5 -NO exceptions.

The Vacation Bible School team is still in need of approximately twenty adult volunteers to help VBS run smoothly. In order to avoid turning children away, more adult volunteers are needed. Parishioners are asked to please consider sharing their time and talent. Applications are available on the parish website. VBS is also in need of working white Christmas lights and old clocks which need not be in working condition.

Also needed are popsicle sticks, glitter, cotton balls, baby food jars, pony beads, red, yellow and orange tissue paper, battery powered tea lights, baby wipes boxes, and shoe boxes. Donated items may be dropped off at the Parish Center during office hours.

Vacation Bible School painting days are coming soon. Volunteers are needed to help create props and decorations. Stop in anytime on the following days in the cafeteria: June 3 from 3-8 p. m., June 10 from 12:30 -8 p. m., and June 11 from12:30 -6 p. m.

St. Jude High School Youth Group will hold a Krispy Kreme Donut sale after all Masses on June 6/7 to benefit the students attending the National Catholic Youth Conference. Sale will feature traditional glazed and chocolate frosted, white cream filled, and raspberry filled.

The 26th Annual St. Jude Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 26 at Sand Springs Golf Club. The format is Shotgun start will be at 1 p. m. The cost is $360 for Captain and Crew (foursome); $90 per single golfer; $75 per junior golfer, 18 years old or younger. Hole sponsors are available for $100. The cost includes green fees, a golf cart, beverages, snacks, great awards and prizes, and a wonderful dinner with dessert at Sand Springs Club House. Guests may join the golfers for dinner at a cost of $30 per person. Tuition credits will be $25 per golfer, $10 per junior golfer, and $10 per hole sponsor. Tuition credits may apply to St. Jude School, Holy Family Academy, or Holy Redeemer High School. All proceeds will benefit the St. Jude School family scholarship program. Students entering ninth thru twelfth grade in the fall are invited on a road trip to Knoebels Amusement Park on June 19. Please arrive at St. Jude School between 2:30 p. m. and 2:45 p. m. The group will leave promptly at 3:00 p. m. and return at approximately 11:00 p. m. The cost is $33 for the Sundown Plan that includes all roller coasters. Bring extra money for food. Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
