St. Jude International Fest May 30-31

St. Jude’s 4th Annual International Fest will be held Saturday, May 30 from 4 p. m. until 11 p. m. and Sunday, May 31 from noon until 9 p. m. Three raffle prizes are being offered: a dream vacation or $5,000 cash, custom LASIK procedure with Intralase, and one week beach house vacation (sleeps 12) in Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

Local dance groups will be appearing between noon and 5 p. m. including the Kerry Dancers, the Emerald Isle Step Dancers, and the Nisha School of Dance (Indian Bollywood dancers). The St. Jude School choir will perform at 1 p. m. on Sunday.

There will be ethnic food from the United States, Ireland, England, Italy, Cuba, Mexico, Lebanon, Germany, Poland, and Russia. International Desserts and beverages including wine and beer will be available.

The Theme Basket booth at the International Fest is seeking donations of new or gently used baskets. Please contact Mandy Baab Jankowski at 570-592-7424.

First Communion DVD’s can be picked up at the Parish Center.

Students entering ninth thru twelfth grade in the fall are invited on a road trip to Knoebels Amusement Park on June 5. Please arrive at St. Jude School between 3:30 p. m. and 3:45 p. m. The group will leave promptly at 4 p. m. and return at approximately 11 p. m. The cost is $33 for the Sundown Plan that includes all roller coasters. Bring extra money for food. The group will not be swimming. Registration forms are available at www.stjc.organd must be handed in to the Parish Center by Wednesday, June 3. The Vacation Bible School team is still in need of approximately twenty adult volunteers to help VBS run smoothly. In order to avoid turning children away, adult volunteers are needed. Applications are available on the parish website. VBS is also in need of working white Christmas lights and old clocks which need not be in working condition. Items may be dropped off at the Parish Center.

Registrations are still being accepted for Vacation Bible School. Children three years old to students entering fifth grade are invited to register via the parish website. Forms are also available in the Parish Center. Bible school will run from June 22 through 26 from 9 a. m. until noon. The cost is $35 per child. This year’s theme is “Bible Blast to the Past”. The registration deadline is June 5 -NO exceptions.

St. Jude High School Youth Group will hold a Krispy Kreme Donut sale after all Masses on June 6/7 to benefit the students attending the National Catholic Youth Conference.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday-Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
