Welcome Club Meeting

The Mountain Top Welcome Club will hold its May meeting on Thursday May 21 at noon at the Mountain Top Presbyterian Church, 9 Chestnut Street. Lunch will Potluck! Please bring your favorite dish to share with your fellow members. Babysitting will be available for $4 per child. New members are welcome and your first meeting is complimentary. Fairview Elementary “Hillbilly Hayride”

Don’t miss the talented Fairview 6th and 5th grade artists perform in “Hillbilly Hayride” on May 22nd at 6:30 p. m. Monetary or product donations to Blue Chip No-Kill Animal Shelter in Dallas, are requested for admission! The students will take you on an adventure as they tell the story of a 200 year old battle between the feudin’ Tollivers and Calhouns, which makes things difficult for a buddin’ romance between Emmy Lou, a Tolliver, and Lee Roy, a Calhoun.

Post 781 Memorial Ceremonies

Memorial Day ceremonies will be held on Sunday May 24 everyone is encouraged to attend. Please meet at the American Legion Post 781 at 10:15 am May 24th. Any questions please call John Columbo at 570 678-7105.

Junior High Football

The next player meeting Coach Kutney will be holding is in the Middle School café on May 26th during homeroom. At this meeting he will be reviewing the summer practice schedule for the JH football team. He will be holding a parent meeting answering any questions about the summer practice schedule on May 27th at 6pm in the MS café. Women’s Club Yard Sale

The Women’s Club of Mountaintop is holding a Yard Sale for a fundraiser. It will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 124 Fieldstone Way, Fairview Twp., left off of Kirby Avenue past the Kirby Library. The time is from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. which includes a variety of items.

Boy Scout Competition

Troop 25 of White Haven is sponsoring a “Are You As Skilled As A Boy Scout” competition at the 30th Anniversary Troop picnic at the White Haven VFW, Post 6615 on May 30th from noon till 5. Scout Skill stations will be available to try your hand at various skills that scouts learn like knots, cooking, shelter building, first aid and more. A 4 station competition consisting of Compass use, Wood cutting skills, knots & lashing and fire building will held with teams of four to compete in Scout Skills. Teams will be made up at the event for those who don’t have 4 participants. Photos, books, patches and other memorabilia will be on display and past members are encouraged to bring theirs to share. American Girl Doll Bingo

American Girl Doll Bingo will be held on May 31st at the Wright Township Fire Hall. Doors open at 12 p. m. Bingo starts at 1 p. m. Proceeds to benefit the MS Kirby Library in Mountain Top. Tickets purchased on or before May 27th are $20. Tickets purchased after May 27th are $23. Tickets can be bought at the library -35 Kirby Avenue, or by calling the library at 570-474-9313. 20 regular games (ALL DOLLS) in addition to special games where prizes will be accessories and/or dolls. Basket raffles, 50/50’s, and food for sale. All those attending (including children) must purchase a ticket. No exceptions!

Rice PTA Meeting

The Rice Elementary PTA will host their final monthly meeting of the school year on Tuesday June 2nd at 6 p. m. in the school’s library. All parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to attend the meeting. Babysitting will be available. Any questions please call Kerri Fey 570-479-2739.
