Micayla Grey, a 4-H member in Hooves & Hoppers 4-H Club, and Makaela Miller, a member in Tall in the Saddle 4-H Club and were awarded a Luzerne County 4-H scholarship to further their post high school education. Both recipients were chosen based on their written application highlighting their involvement in 4-H at the club, county, regional, state and national level; evidence of leadership; community involvement and citizenship; and how 4-H has contributed to their personal growth as well as their letters of recommendation.
Makaela Miller resides in Wapwallopen and will be graduating from Berwick Area Senior High School. She will be attending Bloomsburg University this fall majoring in Speech Pathology.
4-H is a family-oriented, non-formal education program open to all youth ages 5-18. The program fosters citizenship and leadership as well as growth through a variety of learning experiences.
