Crestwood Sports Scan

In softball, the Crestwood girls were shutout, 4-0, by Hazleton Area on April 13. Colleen Borum took the loss for the Lady Comets.

Borum and Sydney Sobolewski each went 2 for 4 at bat in hitting.

On April 14, Crestwood squeaked past host Dallas, 1-0, scoring the game’s only run in the fifth inning Maddy Heller had a double for the Lady Comets.

Borum picked up another win last week as Crestwood defeated Berwick, 9-5, on April 15.

The Lady Comets came from behind to tie the game with four runs in the seventh inning and tacked on five in the ninth inning for the win.

+++++ The Crestwood boys’ tennis team lost a hotly contest Wyoming Valley Conference match to Holy Redeemer, 3-2, on April 13.

In singles, Robbie Shovlin and Ryan Rogan captured straight set wins.

Crestwood defeated Tunkhannock, 3-2, in a match played on April 15.

In singles, Shovlin edged Luke Straley, 6-3, 6-7 (7-9), and Rogan defeated Avery Newhart, 6-3, 6-0.

The Crestwood doubles team of Gabe Hagen/Matt Wimpfheimer defeated Justin Phillips/Alex Grenup, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).


The Crestwood boys baseball team lost to Wyoming Valley West, 16-1.

Chupka took the loss for the Comets.

Derek Distasio had a double and

The Crestwood girls dominated play in a non-conference lacrosse game against visiting Mifflinburg on April 18. The Lady Comets won 14-10.

Crestwood was led in scoring by Lizzy Dessoye who tallied seven goals. Teammate Danielle Callaghan chipped in five in the win.

Against Dallas on April 17, Crestwood recorded a 14-6 win.

Dessoye and Callaghan teamed up to score four goals each. Rogan Distasio chipped in with two.
