Mary of Nazareth, 153 minutes, is an epic motion picture on the life of Mary, Mother of Christ, from her childhood through the Resurrection of Jesus. The film captures the essence of Mary’s profound faith and trust in God amidst the great mysteries that she lived with as the Mother of the Messiah, as well as her compassionate humanity and concern for others, and the deep love that she and Jesus shared for one another.
The movie underscores her special role in God’s plan for our redemption, her unique relationship with Christ, and the tremendous suffering that she endured in union with his passion and death, as well as her serene joy at His Resurrection. The days and times this movie will be shown are Tuesday, January 13th at 6:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s Church and Sunday, January 18th at 2 p. m. in the St. Jude School Cafeteria.

Mary’s Little Lambs is a new program for parents, grandparents and caregivers of infants, toddlers and preschool aged-children starting on weekday mornings in January. Children will hear a Bible story, do a simple craft and have a playtime experience.

A Confirmation retreat for seventh grade students will be held on Sunday, January 11. Students are asked to be in the St. Jude School gym between 11 a. m. and 11:30 a. m. The retreat will run until 7 p. m. and will include the Teen Mass at 6 p. m.
The Book of the Quarter is entitled simply, Prayer. It examines prayer in the Old and New Testament and also looks at prayer in the life of the saints. Parishioners are invited to come to as many classes as their schedule permits. Classes will continue on the following Tuesdays: January 13, 20, and 27; February 3, 10, and 17. All meetings will begin at 7 p. m. and will be in the school library except for January 27 which will be in the Parish Center Community Room. The book may be purchased at the Parish Center for $17.
The Contemporary Ensemble and the adult choir practices will resume on January 14. Contact Joe Dubinski at the Parish Center for further information.
Parishioners are asked to consider being an “I March with the Youth in Spirit” sponsor for those students attending the March for Life in Washington D. C. later in Janaury. The cost for each student is $130. Donations of any amount are welcome. Contributions may be put in an envelope marked March for Life and dropped in the collection basket or dropped off at the Parish Center.
