Rev. JP Bohanan, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, 175 S. Main Rd, invites you for Worship on the Lord’s Day at 8:30 and 10:45 am.
Nursery is available for infants and toddlers from 10:30 during the second service, however all children are welcome to stay during worship. Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month and is open to all. The First Sunday of the month has also been designated Food Bank Day. Please bring nonperishable food items to be donated to the Mountain Top Food Bank.
In 1989, a United Methodist pastor (Will Willimon) and a United Methodist Theologian (Stanley Hauerwas) co-authored and published a book that shook the foundations of American Christianity. Resident Aliens: Life
in the Christian Colony spoke
prophetically to Christians all over America, delighting some, enraging others, and challenging all. Abingdon Press has just published a special expanded 25th anniversary edition of Resident Aliens, and this fall our Adult Sunday School class will be doing a ten week study of the book, led by Joel Shuman. We invite you to join us, beginning Sept. 14, for what promises to be an exciting and even life-changing experience. If you would like to be part of this study, please call the church office.
Sunday School and Confirmation Class take place, at 9:30 am, during the school year, right after the first service. We have classes for ALL ages, including adults. Bring your questions, thoughts and ideas so that we can learn together and enjoy some fellowship with each other. We will be taking registrations for Fall Confirmation Class, for students who are 12-13 years of age who will be entering 7th grade. Call the church office for more information.
Holy Communion will be served on September 7th. All are Welcome,
During the summer months, through Labor Day, there will be a “Food and Fellowship” on the lawn. This a wonderful opportunity to share some light fare and enjoy fellowship between services.
