St. Jude’s Grove Clean-Up August 3

In order to get ready for the St. Jude Parish Picnic, volunteers are needed to help clean up the grove. Those who are able to assist are asked to bring work gloves, rakes, brooms, and rags. A light dinner will be provided. Clean up will be from 3 p. m. until 7 p. m. This is a great project for scouts, families, and anyone willing to pitch in.

The First Annual St. Jude Parish Rummage Sale will be held August 8, 9, and 10 in the St. Jude School gym during the 2014 church picnic. The rummage sale will be limited to clean, usable household items, books, jewelry, toys, exercise items, furniture, and dishes. No clothing items will be available. Donations may be dropped off at the following times: Fri. , Aug. 1 from 4 to 8 p. m. and Sat. , Aug. 2 from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. The sale is being organized by Boy Scout Troop 60.. Anyone who is donating a Theme Basket for the picnic may drop it off in the Parish Center parking lot on Monday, August 4 from 6 p. m. until 7:30 p. m.

The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will be hosting a Day of Reflection on Wed, Aug. 6th, at the Villa of Our Lady Retreat House, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. Msgr. Vincent Grimalia will serve as spiritual director. The day’s program will include a spiritual talk, Sacrament of Reconciliation, celebration of Mass, private prayer time, and Rosary recitation. The Spiritual Care team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center will host two free “Living with Grief” support group series on Wednesdays during the afternoon from 2 p. m. until 3:30 p. m. or during the evening from 6 p. m. until 7:30 p. m. beginning August 6 in the Spiritual Center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, 1000 East Mountain Blvd., Wilkes-Barre. It is recommended that participants attend all sessions to experience the full benefit of the group. The interactive sessions will be completely confidential. Light refreshments will be served. A Wine and Spirits Booth has been added to the picnic. Donations of various types of wine and levels of spirits are needed and may be dropped off at the Parish Center during regular business hours.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
