St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

The Altar & Rosary Society will meet Monday, August 18 at 7 p. m. in the meeting room. The Altar & Rosary Society is recruiting new members. All young ladies who have received Confirmation are invited to become a member. The ladies tend the sanctuary and raise money to help pay for liturgical items. Hospital Visits-It has been called to our attention that parishioners have been hospitalized and didn’t get a visit from our clergy. We are not always made aware of one’s hospital stay. Please give our parish name “Saint Mary’s Dorrance” upon admittance, or call our Parish Office at 570-868-5855 if you wish a pastoral visit.
A few weeks are available in 2014 to have the Sanctuary Candle lit “in memory of” or “in honor of” a loved one. Please call the parish office for available dates.
St. Mary’s Community Outreach Team will meet Tuesday, August 12 at 6:30 p. m. in the meeting room. Rosaries are made prior to the meeting beginning at 6 p. m. Bereavement Support Group-Living with Grief: A free bereavement support group
When a loved one dies, a support group setting offers many healing benefits. The Spiritual Care team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center will host two free “Living with Grief” support group series on Wednesdays during the afternoon and in the evening beginning August

Volunteers Needed-We are putting together a list of names of people who are willing to volunteer as needed. Various jobs include helping to stuff raffle tickets and with bulk mailings. Please call the parish office to have your name added to the list.
The Diocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal is sponsoring its 32nd annual conference at the University of Scranton the weekend of August 1-3. This year’s theme is: “Come to me all you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will give you rest” –a time of repentance and healing. The full-weekend Registration Fee is $65 after July
