White Haven Library, Police Dept, YMCA Sponsoring Family Bike Ride July 26

The White Haven Area Community Library, the Wilkes Barre YMCA, and the White Haven Police Department are sponsoring a family bike ride starting at the Engine House library located at 99 Towanda Street at 11a.m. Officer Emmalyn Hooten will give a bike safety awareness program before the ride begins.

Free bike rentals will be available in a limited number for people wanting to explore the Delaware & Lehigh Corridor trail on Saturday, July 26 in White Haven.

Those families interested in participating in the free bike rental opportunity can sign up at the library prior to July 26. It will be on a first come, first served basis. Riders should arrive at the Pocono Bike Rental Shop in the parking lot south of the White Haven Shopping Center on Main Street in White Haven starting at 10:00 AM. Each rider will be fitted with a bike that is an appropriate size and style. Children who participate must be accompanied by an adult and should have a riding skill level that allows them to ride independently and safely without training wheels.

For information or to register, call the library at 570-443-8776.

This program is sponsored in partnership with the D&L Trail Alliance.
