Right around Memorial Day, most Little League seasons are in full swing and players, coaches and parents are waist deep in game schedules, snack stand duty, player stats and team standings.

Michael Geroski, a 12 year-old member of the boys majors Yankees, did something on May 20 of this season that few boys his age, if any, have ever done before. Michael hit for the home run “cycle”: Hitting a solo, two-run and three-run home run and a grand slam in the same game.

Dave Papura, the manager of the Yankees, has been coaching roughly ten years –starting when his now 16-year old son was in tee ball at age 6. He says he had never seen a player hit four home runs in the same game, let alone hit for the cycle, and from what he can tell, neither has anybody else.
