Sunday Church School begins at 9:30 a. m.
Pastor Michele D. Kaufman leads Sunday worship services at St. Paul’s at 8:30 am, and 10:00 am. The Church office (570-474-6616) is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Pastor Kaufman is in the office Mondays from10 a. m. –2 p. m.
The Organist/Director is Christine Katsock.
No Nursery in summer months.
Communion will be offered July 20th, and August 3rd, 17th, and 31stt.
A Healing Service is scheduled Wednesday, August 6 at 11 a. m. Potluck Luncheon follows at noon.
The “Book of Faith” Bible study series will be at 7 p. m. on Monday, July 21st and Monday, August 4th and Tuesday, August 19th.
Every third Wednesday, at 1:00 p. m. at the church will be Board Game Day. Please bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Come on out and have some fun. A sign up sheet will be located on the table in the narthex. Next game day scheduled July 16th & August 20th.
WELCA’s next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 9th at 1 p. m. at the church. Our hostesses will be Joanne Smith. Please come with ideas to discuss. The following meeting will be on August 13th at noon. We will carpool from there to a restaurant.
Sign up for delicious hoagies! Watch for the sign-up sheet on the narthex bulletin board. All orders must be in by the previous Sunday, which in this case will be, Sunday, July 13th with a pick up date of July 17th; and in August order by August 17th with a pick up date of August 21st. The cost of the hoagies are $4.00 each. The sign-up sheet is on the narthex bulletin board. They’re available the 3rd Thursday of each month except December.
The “Yarn Spinners,” will continue to meet on the first Wednesday of each month; there is no meeting in July. The next meeting is August 6th in the church at 12:30 p. m. Continue to work on baby blankets and hats for Wilkes-Barre General Hospital which will be due at the August meeting. They are 21-inch squares.
Weekly Meetings-Weight Watchers, every Wednesday at 6:15 p. m.; AA, every Wednesday and Fridays at 7 p. m., Sundays 7 p. m.; NA, every Thursday at 6 p. m.; and Stress & Anxiety Management, every 2nd and last Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p. m.

17th Annual Camp Evergreen-Do you know a child who has experienced a loss within their family or community circle and is grieving or has experienced changes due to a recent death? Lutheran Home Care and Hospice will be hosting their 17th annual Camp Evergreen, July 25-27 at Camp Fowler in Orefield, Pa. The 2 night overnight camp is available free of charge to bereaved children between the ages of 8 and 16 years who have experienced a recent death of a loved one. Congratulations to our high school graduates and their achievements
High School Graduates Alyssa Davies –Alyssa
celebrated her 18th birthday on June 6th and graduated from Crestwood with a 3.8 GPA. She also made the Dean’s list with a 4.0 for the spring semester at Luzerne County Community College. She is a member of the National Business Honor Society and will be attending the Bloomsburg Univ. this fall where she will major in Business Management with a marketing or finance minor. Alyssa ended her high school softball career on a high note by being named MVP for the East team in the Kiwanis High School All-Star game on June 16th, where she pitched 5 innings giving up one earned run while recording 7 strikeouts. She also had an RBI double. She was also the winning pitcher in the quarter-final and final games for the Valley Regional Warrior Showcase travel team as they won their bracket championship at the New Jersey Outlaws tournament on June 8th. She was recruited by Bloomsburg University to play softball and she hopes to continue her athletic career in the fall. Alyssa also enjoys playing piano, guitar and banjo and her hobbies include skiing, horseback riding, art and family Pinterest projects.
Hailey Garinger –The great granddaughter of Jacqueline McDermott, Hailey graduated June 3 from Hurricane High School in Hurricane, WV. She will be attending Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She is going into the medical field to be an Ultrasound Tech.
Johann Christian Malkemes graduated Crestwood. Christian was in the National Honor Society National Spanish Honor Society and Young Scholars (attended classes at LCCC). He also played soccer and tennis on the Crestwood teams. Christian will be attending Penn State (main campus) and majoring in Anthropology.
Michael Daniel Novosel graduated Crestwood. Michael will be attending Penn State in Hazleton and majoring in Psychology.
Michela Lucia Pantano graduated Crestwood and will be attending Hofstra University in Long Island, NY and majoring in Special Ed and minoring in musical theater.
Kayla Janene Schwartz graduated from Crestwood and will be attending West Chester University and majoring in Medical Technology.
Carl James Sheridan graduated from Crestwood. Carl is in the U. S. Army National Guard and was slated to leave June 30 for five months of training. Upon his return, he plans on first attending Luzerne County Community College for two years and transfer to Bloomsburg Univ. for the next two years and major in Computer Information Systems.
Christian Tyler Brown, grandson of Jacqueline McDermott, graduated May 16 from the Mountain State Christian School in Culloden, WV. He is going to pursue an education in Business and Technology when he moves to Pennsylvania in the next three months.
Kayla Janene Schwartz graduated Crestwood HS. Kayla will be attending West Chester University and majoring in Medical Technology.
