Swawola Promoted To Sergeant In NY State Police Forensic Dept.
Sgt. Richard Swawola

Richard Edmund Swawola, son of Linda (Schultz) Swawola and the late Richard E. Swawola has been promoted to sergeant in the forensic department of the New York State police, Pleasant Valley, New York.

Richard is a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 1997. He attained an associate degree in criminal justice at LCCC and attended Lackawanna Junior College where he completed his Act 120. He also completed courses through the New York State Police in basic photography, crime scene school, fingerprint procedures and practices, advance latent print processing, certified latent print examiners course, S. A. F. I. S. operator course, NYSP blood stain patterns analysis, aquatic death and homicide drowning as well as 6 months of training at the NYSP Academy. He also attended the University of Tennessee Outdoor Recovery Course (“Body Farm”) as well as other specialized training.

Richard was previously employed by the Fairview Township Police Department, Newport Township and Wilkes-Barre Township Police Departments as a part time officer.

Richard is the grandson of the late Edmund and Wilhelmina Schultz and the late Edward and Beatrice Swawola.
