Grand Master David Sparks of Mountain Top Martial Arts Center will conduct two summer programs. Self-Defense for Women will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 1:00 p. m. for females age 14 and older. Master Sparks has trained in martial arts for 34 years and has taught both Karate and Self Defense for 30 of those years. His martial arts journey has allowed Master Sparks to hone a self-defense system-Aiki Jitsu that he has adapted for all ages and abilities. His goal is to teach highly effective and attainable self-defense that can be used in any situation. His students are taught not only to defend and get away, but also how to analyze a situation and apply the necessary amount of force to protect themselves.
Master Sparks will also conduct an introductory class to the Fabulous Fifty Exercise Program on Saturday, August 2 at 1:00 p. m. This class is for women age 50 and older who want to shed extra pounds and get into shape. Experience this unique, low impact method of toning muscles which is offered regularly at the Mountain Top Martial Arts Center.
Exercise your brain with a unique game concept called Jepotrivia created by Herb King, combining elements of the popular games Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit on Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30. Test your knowledge of facts and trivia of all kinds of science; some wacky, some old, some new, but all interesting. Adults age 18 and older can play individually or bring a team!
