Jean L. (Elmy) Bray

Devoted Mother

Jean L. (Elmy) Bray, 74, Mountain Top, died June 3, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family following a prolonged illness.

Jean was born Nov. 12, 1939, in Nanticoke. She was a daughter of Francis Elmy and Mildred (Walk) Elmy Ruth. She was a graduate of Newport High School and also attended Luzerne County Community College

She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mountain Top. Jean worked more than 20 years in sales at Sears and as a merchandise processor at Lord & Taylor.

Jean was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons. She enjoyed spending time with her sons, rooting for Penn State football, North Carolina basketball and the New York Yankees.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. David and his wife, Dr. Diane, Binghamton, New York, and Michael and his wife, Eileen, Drums; grandchildren, David and Lauren; step-grandchildren, Sean, Scott and Julie. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Cleveland Elmy (Barbara), Thelma Presnal (Frank), Estelle Sudick, Evelyn Bushelli, George Elmy and Jack Elmy (Cathy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held in Christ United Methodist Church, South Main Road, Mountain Top, with J. P. Bohanon, pastor, officiating. Internment was in Slocum Cemetery.

Arrangements were by McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.

Michael A. Lenehan

Crestwood H. S. Graduate

Michael A. Lenahan, 57, Hanover Township, died May 27, 2014.

Born June 16, 1956 in Wilmington, Del., he was the son of Margaret Temprine Lenahan, of Hanover Township, and the late John J. Lenahan.

He was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 1974, and was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish.

He was employed by Cornell Iron Works and Pride Mobility. He was also a member of the local welders unions.

Throughout his life, he greatly enjoyed mechanics and working on cars. He loved spending time outdoors.

Surviving are his daughter, Melissa Mercado; granddaughter, Julia Mercado; brother, John A. Lenahan and his wife, Mary, of Mountain Top; sisters, Regina Lenahan-Beierle, of Wilkes Barre and Mary Therese Fahey, of Hanover Township; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes Barre.

Lawrence Brazinski

Dorrance Twp. Resident

Lawrence Brazinski, 72, of Dorrance Township, died June 5, 2014, at Mountain Top Senior Care Center.

He was the father of Kelly Ney, Freeland, Lisa Brush, Dorrance, and Rebecca Evans.

Per Mr. Brazinski’s wishes, there will be no public services or calling hours. Arrangements are by the Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, Nanticoke.

Delmas Earnhart Jr.

White Haven Resident

Delmas H. Earnhart, Jr., White Haven, died May 29, 2014 at home surrounded by family.

Born in White Haven, he was the son of the late Delmas H. Sr and Mildred Searfoss Earnhart and attended White Haven High School. He was retired from Locust Ridge Quarry, Pocono Lake, where he was truck driver. Delmas was a member of the Monroe County Beagle Club, the Hoggs Hole Rod and Gun Club and Lowlp Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved trapping and his beagles.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his son, Dale in 2009.

Delmas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, the former Bonnie Bowen; son, Britt and his companion, Lisa, White Haven; sister, Gloria Keiper and her husband, Carl, White Haven; uncle, Clayton Searfoss, White Haven and many cousins.

Irene Breitenbach

White Haven Resident

Irene Breitenbach, White Haven, died May 27 with her family by her side.

Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Freida Frey and was a graduate of Richmond Hill High School.

Irene is survived by her loving husband, William M. Breitenbach; son, William M. Jr. of White Haven; daughter, Jean Olavarria of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughter, Laurie of New York; son, Richard of New York and son, John of White Haven.
