St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. Pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverand Joseph Evanko. Assistant pastor is Reverend Gerald Shantillo. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Our students will be traveling to West Virginia to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Students will leave on Sunday, July 20 and return on Saturday, July 26. Cost of the trip is $400. First Holy Communion students have their final practice on Saturday May 17. First Holy Communion is on Sunday, May 18 during 9:00 A. M. Mass.
Saint Mary’s Choir will be singing for the First Holy Communion Mass on Sunday, May 18 at 9 A. M. Practice will be Tuesday, May 13 at 6 P. M. in the church.

Saint Mary’s Community Outreach Team will meet Wednesday, May 14 at 7 P. M. in the meeting room. Rosaries are made prior to the Wednesday meetings beginning at 6 P. M. The next meeting or the Altar & Rosary Society is Monday, May 19 at 7 P. M. in the meeting room. Members are asked to bring donations of kitchen/baking items for the Theme Basket Raffle for our church bazaar. Donations are needed by June 8.

When a loved one dies, a support group setting offers many healing benefits. The Spiritual Care team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center will host two free “Living with Grief” support group series on Wednesdays beginning May 14 through June 18. One of six topics will be discussed each week. Sessions are from 2-3:30 P. M or 6-7:30 P. M.
All sessions are held in the Spiritual Center, 1000 East Mountain Blvd, Wilkes Barre. It is recommended that participants attend all sessions in the complete series to experience the full benefit of the group.

Saint Jude School in Mountain Top is continuing to accept registrations for the 2014-2015 school year for three-year-olds through eighth grade students during the regular school hours of 8 A. M. to 3 P. M.
The three-year-old program will be full days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The four-year-old prekindergarten students may choose either three full days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays or five full day sessions. Parents/guardians need to bring the students’ social security card, birth certificate, immunization records, and a non-refundable $100 registration fee.
Orientation for three-year-olds, four-year-olds, and kindergarten students will be held Wednesday, June 11 beginning at 9 A. M. in the school cafeteria. Important information will be presented by the administration, the early childhood faculty, and the Parent Teacher Guild concerning the policies and procedures of St. Jude School.
