St. Jude Parish Center Lists New Office Hours

Parishioners are please asked to note the change in the hours of operation of the Parish Center. The new office hours are: Monday and Wednesday from 9 a. m. until 3:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a. m. until 1 p. m; closed on Friday.

The Spiritual Care Team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center will host two free “Living with Grief” support group series on Wednesdays during the afternoon or evening. All sessions will be held in the Spiritual Center, 1000 East Mountain Boulevard in Wilkes-Barre. It is recommended that participants attend all sessions in the complete series to experience the full benefit of the group. All evening sessions will be from 6 p. m. until 7:30 p. m.

The topics and schedule are as follows: Caring for Yourself: Recognizing Emotion and Types of Grief -May 14 -afternoon or evening; Re-Socialization: Coping with Special Events -May 21 -afternoon or evening; Guilt and Depression: Facing Emptiness -May 28 -afternoon or evening; Anger -June 4 -afternoon or evening; How to Keep Growing Spiritually -June 11 -afternoon or evening; Memorial service -June 18 -evening only.

The next Teen Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 18 at 6 p. m. followed by teen night with food, games, and open gym.

The following items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: canned fruit, jelly, mayonnaise, peanut butter, carrots, coffee, tea, noodles, syrup, jello, popcorn, and macaroni and cheese. Please drop off the items in the annex part of our church. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

The St. Jude Parish International Fest will be held Saturday, May 31 from 4 p. m. until 11 p. m. and Sunday, June 1 from noon until 9 p. m. A food drive is being instituted as part of this year’s festival. Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring a can of food to the event to benefit those in need in our area.

Everyone is also encouraged to purchase or sell raffle tickets for a Dream Vacation. Tickets are $5 each or six for $25. The raffle is an easy way for everyone to support the parish. Ticket stubs and corresponding funds may be returned by mail, dropped off at the Parish center, or placed in the collection basket. The winner will have a choice of one of the following: 7 day trip for 2 to Ireland, 8 day trip for 2 to Italy, 8 day cruise for 2 thru Venice and Greece, create your own Dream Vacation of a $5,000 value, or $5,000 cash. The winner will be drawn on June 1 at 9 p. m.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
