Fairview Township Police recently cited two Mountaintop residents for DUI.
Two counts of driving under the influence were filed on April 9, 2014 against Christopher Kamowski, 55, Mountain Rd.. Kamowski was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance-General Impairment, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-Highest Rate of Alcohol by Officer Gerald Michael Heck, Fairview Township Police Department.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, on February 4, 2014 at 2 a. m., Officer Heck, was in Turkey Hill, N. Mountain Blvd, with Officer Fromm, Wright Township, and Officer Zane, Rice Township, when Officer Zane noticed a man enter the store who appeared to be the same person who was involved in an earlier incident resulting in a DUI. The officers were able to identify the male as Christopher Kamowski. Officer Heck and Officer Fromm had just dropped Kamowski off at his residence of 55 Mountain Road no longer than 20 minutes prior for a DUI arrest.
Officer Heck questioned the defendant on how he got to Turkey Hill. The defendant stated, “I got a ride”. At this time, the officer detected a strong odor of intoxicating beverages on the defendant’s breath and observed the defendant’s eyes were blood shot and glossy. The defendant’s speech was slurred and he had trouble standing. The officer requested Kamowski come out of the store. In doing so, Officer Heck looked at the vehicle Kamowski
