The Luzerne County Community College BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) Club will participate in the 63rd annual observance of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday May 1, at 11 a. m., in front of the James T. Atherton Gymnasium. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the gym.
The theme for the 2014 National Day of Prayer is “One Voice United in Prayer,” emphasizing the need for individuals to join together in corporate prayer.
Four guest pastors will lead the group in prayer. Praise and worship music will be provided by BASIC Club treasurer Ariell Harro, the newly-formed LCCC Choir Club, and recording artist Mike Lewis. A wooden cross will be provided for everyone to deposit a prayer request. LCCC BASIC members will pray for the requests.
The event is free and open to the public.
